WE.WILL.NOW IS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2013 REFOCUS FASHION SHOW - DEADLINE: JANUARY 18TH, 2013
The Refocus Project and Fashion Show is a platform created that allows young people to identify a social cause that they are passionate about and with the assistance of dedicated mentors create eye-catching art pieces that best reflect their vision of their social cause, in other words we answer the question “if you could design a piece of art to represent hunger…what would it look like? And keep in mind your peers are your canvas”.
For the 2013 Refocus Project & Fashion Show, we are doing things a little differently. The intention is still the same, to bring much needed attention to social causes, however the designers will be working to create outfits (not universal symbols) for each model. Each outfit will be the designers very own interpretation of a social cause of their choosing.
Individuals selected to participate in the project will be involved in weekly workshops, event planning, and designing. The entire project will conclude with 2013 Refocus Fashion Show, where each designer will have the opportunity to showcase their work to the general public.
So if you have always wanted to be a designer….then this may be your chance.
Want to start building your portfolio….then this is a great project to launch your career.

ELIGIBILITY
- Resident of an under-resourced community
- Between the ages of 16 and 25
- Able to commit to a maximum of 2 workshops per week
- Willingness to contribute to the organizing of the 2013 Refocus Fashion Show
- Positive attitude and respect for differences
- Team player
