Grassroots Youth Collaborative

For the month of October Just BGRAPHIC and Aeroplan have launched a champaign to help raise Aeroplan Miles donations towards sending a group youth on a Dance Learning Journey. This scholarship will send up to 4 youth to a prestigious dance school or organization in New York city for a week to study and improve on their dance skills. This scholarship will allow our youth to experience a whole new world of professional dance and it will provide invaluable inspiration to pursue post secondary dance.

Dance is a discipline with so much variety that it’s no surprise many students find their passion in one or more of its forms. Whatever the genres, dance requires hard work, talent, and dedication. These traits along with many others possessed by dancers, make dance scholarships a great way to reward students who are dedicated to their art. This scholarship program provides the opportunity to succeed in post secondary education and their dance career.

The mission of this scholarship is to take up to 4 senior high school students and expose them to a whole new world of professional dance, outside of their home city. The intent is to ignite the drive to pursue post secondary education in dance. To accomplish this we need to break down the barriers that prevent these successes.

The Learning Journey Scholarship Program is designed to recognize and encourage JBG students who:

• Have exceptional artistic talent and potential.
• Have demonstrated commitment by dedicating a minimum of 100 hours of programming.
• Are pursuing a career in the arts.

The students who receive this scholarship will travel to an arts school, academy or dance centre within New York and take classes for 1 week. This scholarship will cover the expenses of travel, accommodations, food and classes.
